Insight Global is seeking a Lead SCADA Engineer/Project Manager to join one of our largest clients, Dominion Energy. This person will lead and manage all SCADA and communication system engineering activities for the CVOW offshore wind farm?including design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, documentation, and operational readiness. This will require the ability to travel between Richmond VA to Dominion HQ as well as Norfolk for the onshore operations of this project. Insight Global is seeking a Mid?senior level Electrical Engineer to support the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project ? a 2,600 MW offshore wind farm with 176 turbines, 3 offshore substations, and major high-voltage subsea infrastructure. Work includes power system studies, energization, protection, and supporting commissioning across Richmond and Tidewater. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with the CVOW project managers, internal and external stakeholders, and package suppliers to support the design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of our client’s offshore wind projects. This person must be willing and able to travel between Richmond and Norfolk as needed. This will be a 1 year contract with renewals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Perform as lead technical contact (SME) on HV/MV electrical systems and equipment. Perform walkdowns, inspections, and verifications of said systems in the field and/or on site when necessary.- Evaluate equipment proposals to ensure conformance with project specifications and grid requirements.- Work with suppliers and contractors to review and comment on project documentation (system design, engineering drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans, non-conformance reports, etc.). Overview:Insight Global is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Power Control Board team supporting one of our largest and most innovative clients within the Energy Storage Industry. In this role, you will drive the electrical design and integration of printed circuit boards that power battery systems, contributing directly to the reliability and scalability of next-generation grid-scale energy storage. You will apply deep expertise in Altium-based PCB development, power control cabinet interfaces, and component-level sourcing to create robust, manufacturable hardware that supports delivery of cost-effective, long-duration storage technology. Working closely with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and reliability teams, you will ensure that each board meets stringent performance, thermal, and durability demands of large-scale battery modules while maintaining seamless integration with control systems and cabinet-level designs. This role blends hands-on technical design, system-level collaboration, and disciplined documentation to help accelerate the deployment of its newest storage platform.Day to Day:-Support the design of PCB schematics and layouts in Altium, applying best practices in routing, component placement, and supply-chain-aware part selection.-Develop and maintain accurate BOMs with approved alternates, lifecycle data, and sourcing options to support manufacturability and procurement.-Integrate PCB designs with power control cabinets, auxiliary systems (sensors, fans, actuators), and battery module interfaces for Form?s iron-air energy storage systems.-Collaborate with cross-functional hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure PCB functionality, enclosure fit, and system-level performance.-Support E-Plan (or similar ECAD tools) by aligning connector pinouts, device tags, and wiring requirements with panel and cabinet schematics.-Execute DFM/DFT reviews and partner with Form Factory 1 to drive smooth transition from prototype to high-volume manufacturing.-Perform lab bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting of PCB assemblies, verifying power, thermal, and sensor-control functionality.-Document engineering changes, test results, design updates, and reliability learnings to maintain traceability and improve future revisions.-Apply automotive-grade reliability, thermal, and EMI/EMC design discipline where applicable, leveraging experience from EV/ADAS-level environments.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
